Happy New Year from me and MaineDrama Productions! I just want to take a few moments to thank you for your support. Without your words of encouragement, financial contributions, in-kind donations, or any other means, none of this would be possible. Those are not words said lightly, but meant with the deepest of gratitude. As I take this company into 2014, I look forward to your continued support and love. You help fuel my drive to keep talking and producing works that challenge me to the core.  That is so invaluable. Here's to another great year with a group of great supporters.

Thank you,
Tramaine
NEW YEAR'S RESOLUTION?
It's 2014...so you know what that means...time to revisit those goals that you may not have gotten to in 2013. Do you have a New Year's Resolution? If so, share it with us! Accountability is key! Tweet us (@mainedramapro) or post it on our Facebook page (MaineDrama Productions). We'll keep tabs on you and your progress.

MaineDrama's commitment for this year is to produce a successful show this summer! In order to do that, we need to meet another resolution...raise funds!
Our goal is to raise $5,000 by February 1, 2014.  You can help us meet our deadline by clicking on the donate button below. So with the swing of the new year, and all that holiday shopping out of the way, won't you support our endeavor?! As you can see below, we've got a ways to go in a month, but I know that we can do it. Every little bit counts...and a lot takes us a long way. Can't donate? Tell your friends that can! Word of mouth is critical!

Point…Blank…Period! is a riveting compilation of spoken word, monologues, and short scenes centered around a woman’s period!  That’s right…that monthly visitor that we can’t live with but can’t live without.   This production will look at various women’s love/hate relationship with that life-giving function that we so desperately need. Whether you’re a man or woman, this promises to be a funny and insightful look at ‘Aunt Flow.’

FEATURED EMERGING
ARTIST OF THE MONTH
Victor Arumemi is a dynamic artist originally from the great state of Maryland. He moved to New York in order to pursue a career in arts and entertainment. As unpredictable and challenging as those fields may be, it’s hard to imagine life being fulfilling without being able to do that which makes you happy, excites your heart and mind, and drives you to do greater things, beyond what you thought yourself capable of.

He has been writing and performing spoken word poetry for over 12 years and has been a featured performer/host at dozens of events at colleges, churches, coffeehouses and everything in between. His talents have also been solicited for weddings. Acting in various capacities since childhood, he loves taking advantage of every opportunity to entertain.

Among his recent accomplishments, are a Grand Prize win at the UMBC Big Poetry Slam and self-publishing his first chapbook of poetry, “Sanctum: semi-auto.”
Produced in around 3 weeks, "Sanctum" encompasses experiences rooted in truth, concerning faith, love and many things in between.

With faith, he continues to go after his dreams, hoping for the best with each new day.

For more information or bookings/performance inquiries, email vicarts.arumemi@gmail.com, or artfulvee@gmail.com for chapbook orders.
MAINEDRAMA PRODUCTIONS SUPPORTS...
A couple weeks ago I met Deborah Mdurvwa and was just amazed by her, her business and drive! She hosted an event and I walked away with at least three pieces. I knew that I had to feature her in this month's issue! Check out her site, what her company is about, and her featured item of the month: the leather glove. They are MDP approved!

Stilettos, clutch, and your Mdurvwa piece, now you are ready to take on the town. The big city of daydreams and bright lights surely has a way of inspiring you none other than New York City. Where dreams are often created and chased. This is the city where one faithful shopping trip changed celebrity accessory designer Deborah Mdurvwa destiny.
Are you daring? Are you contemporary? Are you inspired? If you say are ready for the modern age of Mdurvwa. This collection is not for the shy individual, but someone who wants to make a statement. With chain metal, leather and unexpected color ways this accessory line is what you are missing from your jewelry box.

Using her fashion background for working under designers such as Rachel Roy, Rosa Cha and Estaban Cortazar Deborah is finally ready to step from behind the shadows and into the spot light. She uses her contemporary sense to fuse with her heritage. Originally inspired from Deborah’s Nigerian background, you tend to see afro centeric prints derive throughout her collection in subtle ways. With her finger on fashions pulse Mdurvwa is the collection of the future.
